Someone described Martinez Gonzalez a.k.a. Martins Strautnieks music as an electronic blues, that can be explained by fact that his first musician’s experience, despite his choir experience, was in the instrumental bands and projects. Starting in “Lolita’s Wonderbird” in 1996 and continuing as a keyboardist in various Latvian bands, such as Spinners, T-plox, Sirke, Lolitas Soundsystem, Kuba. Inspired and tutored by DJ Gosh, Martinez Gonzalez has started to write and produce his own music in 1999. Same year he was noticed and invited to perform as Martinez Gonzalez at the local festival – WATERPIECES. Martinez Gonzalez tracks and remixes have been included in various local compilations –"HE PROBABLY HOPED TO GET REMIXED" (2001), "LEGAL FICTION 01" (2002), "STARTERIS II" (2002), “electronica2@*.lv” (2004). Martinez Gonzalez mini album “Nice that we have met” has been recently released on the Latvian netlabel “Dirty Deal” (2006). Currently Martinez is actively performing in different clubs around Latvia and abroad, composing music for the various local and foreign movies and waiting for his LP to be released on the Russian label Lagunamuch Community.
